Whether the explosion-proof forklift can be used safely and reliably mostly depends on its routine maintenance. Minor mistakes can be the sparks of a major explosion accident threatening the security of both person and property. However those tremendous dangers can be avoided by regular check and maintenance which is essential to guarantee operation safety and high performance of a vehicle. Shoot troubles, nip the danger in the bud before it causes severe damage.
1. Requirements
(1) Perform the maintenance before and after the daily work.
(2) Any malfunction or damage should be recorded and reported. Defective vehicles cannot be put to use.
(3) Check and maintenance should be executed by driver or professionals.
2. Contents
(1) Before work
① Battery: Secure electric connection, clean surface, check the operation voltage and insulation protection.
② Mast: Lifting to the maximum height without load do the lifting cylinder and oil tube leak detection. Check the fluency of chain and the roller movement. Observe the tilt cylinders and tubes work condition while doing the forward-backward moving without load, make sure all parts perform well, no oil leakage. Added some Lubricating oil to the chain and mast path will help smooth the whole movement.
③ Brake and Steering: Drive the forklift slowly, hit the brake and then make a right or left turn to check its steering system, brake system and drive system.
④ Light: Check the vehicle lights and make sure there is enough brightness to process the work. Clean the obstacles from the road.
(2) After work
① Clean the vehicle surface including the upper surface of battery, Secure electric connections.
② Secure the wheel bolts.
③ Perform all procedures of Before Work.
(3) Battery charging
① Battery charging must be operated strictly following the instruction, especially for the first and boosting charge.
② For the forklift with a rated voltage of 48V, the battery must be recharged when the voltage is less than 40V or the capacity is below 30%. For the 80V forklift, the battery must be recharged when the voltage is less than 65V or the capacity is below 30%. The whole charging process must be done in the safety zone.
